200名青年科学家参加者的甄选将由一组两级制的国际专业科学总评审团负责。总评审团的首层是由天文学、生命科学与医学和数学科学这三个学科的专家组成的科学评审委员会，每个申请将由至少两位科学评审委员会的成员进行评分。及后，科学评审大会（即总评审团的第二层）将选出200名青年科学家参加桂冠论坛。
