Scheduled for 16-18 November 2021, "Masterminds, Masterclasses" is a flagship programme in 2021 for the prelude to the inaugural Hong Kong Laureate Forum (the Forum). It comprises (1) Hybrid Seminar with world-renowned scientists as speakers, including Shaw Laureates, recipients of Breakthrough Prize, CNRS Gold Medal, Fields Medal and Royal Medal, for extensive international audiences in three disciplines of science, namely Life Science and Medicine, Astronomy and Mathematical Sciences, as well as (2) Dialogue with Young Scientists, in which a small number of selected participants would have invaluable opportunity to converse directly with world-renowned scientists.

(1) Seminar

Each seminar includes presentations by world-renowned scientists, followed by a panel discussion. The presentations will cover not only research topics and their applications, but also the presenters’ research journeys and the experience that they gained during the process. As such, the presentations would definitely be thought-provoking and inspirational. They would appeal to a vast and diverse audience, in particular fellow scientists, young scientists and the younger generation who are interested in science.

While the seminar will be conducted in hybrid mode, to cater for audiences from around the world, the speakers will either be present in-person at the venue or through captivating three-dimension appearance which would add to the thrill for the audiences.
